  • Chris Alfano

    CTO
    Senior Engineer

    Chris has more than 15 years of experience with system architecture, app development, and systems administration. Over the past seven years, he has built more than 30 projects using Sencha’s Ext JS and Touch frameworks, for clients such as Time Warner Cable. In 2012 he organized and founded Code for Philly, a local volunteer chapter of the national nonprofit Code for America, and still serves as co-captain.

    John brings more than 12 years of application development and systems management to the table. John has experience working on hundreds of advanced information systems ranging from social networks to inventory management solutions. John has led the architectural design of complex enterprise systems such as Consumer Reports Mobile Shopper, Christie’s auction house online bidding, Elsevier’s iPad ebook reader, the Philadelphia Eagles draft-day application, and hundreds more.

    Senior Engineer

    Kevin brings over ten years of full life cycle software development experience. Kevin’s most noteworthy client project was an Ext JS web front-end for a cluster performance monitoring application for NetApp. Kevin has also written many mobile applications for small and large businesses.

    Director of Educational Technology

    As Director of Educational Technology, Christian serves as the champion and CEO of Slate. Slate is Jarvus’ in-house educational technology platform that improves access to educational software tools. Slate provides an open-source infrastructure that integrates all of a school’s software tools. Slate eliminates multiple logins with single sign on capability, improves data sharing with APIs, and unifies data with modern interfaces. Slate is currently powering 7 Philadelphia schools, including all 3 of the School District’s new model schools.

  • Nafis Bey

    Engineer

    Nafis brings three years of development experience to the table. Having trained with Jarvus prior to employment, Nafis gained valuable experience working on both Jarvus Products and Services clients. Nafis has extensive knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and various Javascript frameworks. His most notable project is the oversight and management of DynamicWear.com for the past 18 months.

    Senior UX Engineer

    As Jarvus’ interface engineer, Ryon is responsible for crafting seamless interfaces for company products and service projects. His keen eye for detail and years of experience aid him in his ability to oversee quality assurance for all of our projects’ interfaces.

  • Kurt Gawinowicz

    UX Engineer

    With over 10 years of design and front-end development experience, Kurt is an expert in creating robust, usable, accessible web sites and applications. He has unique experience in diverse projects and teams, including for international non-profit Camara, and as lead designer and developer for the world’s largest percussion ecommerce site.

    Project Manager

    Michael is open and eager to learn and grow his ever-expanding skill set. He spent 4 years as an entrepreneur, running his own custom Wordpress development firm. His background in web technologies such as Wordpress, HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL, SQL allow him to be a proficient, knowledgeable project manager. His personality and experience position him perfectly to communicate with both the engineers and the client.

  • Jeffrey Mealo

    Slate Engineer

    Jeffrey Mealo was 10 years old when he started programming in Perl. In middle school, he bootstrapped a web hosting business by purchasing broken laptops on eBay to fix and resell. He responsibly disclosed when he discovered bank routing and social security numbers on the cafeteria point of sale system establishing early on to use his skills for good. Before starting high school, he had created his first database backed website using PHP and MySQL and assisted in scraping and compiling the largest database of video game cheat codes to date. Jeff is passionate about education reform and using technology to empower students of all ages to realize their full potential.

  • Ben Novack

    Project Manager

    Ben runs point as Program Manager for Comcast LMD, overseeing all project management of the departments 3 consumer products, and team of 2 dozen developers, content producers, managers, and designers.

  • Danny Harvith

    Director of Business Marketing
    Co-Captain of N3rd Street

    As Jarvus’ business analyst and director of sales and marketing, Danny is responsible for crafting comprehensive business requirement plans for company products and service projects. Danny helps drive our community work, and network forward through creative strategies, tactical execution, and relationship building. His research experience and entrepreneurial mindset aid him in his ability to oversee quality business processes and best practice implementation, while working with the client to help craft project plans.
